Ordinary

I guess the answer to your question is that I've been working
but I don't have the luxury of nine to five.
I'd like to say that I've been writing but to be honest lately that would be a lie.
It's not so bad and on a good day I can takeaway something the morning girls made.
I like to be busy and enjoy the company of customers.
It's OK, sometimes, to be ordinary.
You know how it is with us it's never over - but it never really starts.
I'm done with keeping track over who said what, or which one broke the others heart last.
It's not so bad when I'm distracted I can keep myself from thinking too much. The only thing that I really miss is the warmth of his touch.
It's OK, sometimes, to be ordinary.

All that there is, is right now. I am means I am and not I will be.
Let's meet say two down by bus stop outside Anna's place,
wander down - maybe rent a movie, baby I'll let you choose
Then fall in a heap on the sofa, I'll hold your hand under the rug.
Baby that would be alright.
Let's go out for a drink or two - somewhere fancy, somewhere new
Let's talk, Let's talk only of the good times - the times when we first met.
Baby that would be alright
Leave those plates for the morning, we could get an early night
It's warmer with two, and a little bit of music
Baby we would feel alright.
All that there is, is right now, I am means I am and not I will be.

On I Go

On I go working, on I go earning, on I go wasting my time.
On I go scrimping, on I go saving, saving but with nothing in mind.
Then the night comes and the pillow is soft
through the warm air I dream you up dear
As I lie there in the shape of a spoon
Just the sheet for me and the duvet for you.
On I go drifting, on I go dreaming, trying to keep hope alive.
On I go I go blindly, on I go idly, on I go carrying on.
Then the night comes and the pillow is soft
through the warm air I dream you up dear
As I lie there in the shape of a spoon
Just the sheet for me and the duvet for you.

Green Eyes
02:40

You caught me on a still day how'd you get here where you been?
I've heard you wash the fun away till you're no-one going nowhere.
Your grip will not let me make my grand exit.
I know you'll make a poor friend but I'm too polite to say.
Green eyes leave me, leave me be
Green eyes have you not had your fun with me?
You are a reminder that I'm not where, where I should be
speak softly when you kiss me, I'm too polite to say
Green eyes leave me, leave me be
Green eyes have you not had your fun with me?

the low low Auckland, New Zealand
Harking to the incisive alt-pop of St. Vincent, the plaintive 60s-influenced melodies of Harry Nilsson, and the inventive vocal work of Kate Bush, The Low Low brings an buoyant, off-kilter approach to classic pop.
